FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEER PARK, TX, October 30, 2015 – STAR SOLUTIONS has announced that Matt Alexander will assume the office of Chief Executive Officer on November 2. At that time, company founder and President Velma Roppolo will step down from running day-to-day operations but will continue her active involvement in the company.
“Matt has brought a new perspective to STAR,” said Roppolo. “I have complete confidence in his experience, intelligence, and energy. He works hard and has such enthusiasm for the company and the industry. STAR has a bright future under his direction.”
Alexander joined STAR SOLUTIONS as Media & Marketing Specialist in early 2014, and was appointed to the role of Vice President later that year, overseeing the company’s sales representatives and undertaking a comprehensive study of in-house operations. The streamlined operations that have resulted offer STAR’s customers quicker access to product information via the company’s web site (www.starsolutionsinc.us) and has allowed STAR to become more competitive with shipping costs.
“I’m excited about this opportunity and about the outlook for STAR,” Alexander stated. “Working with Velma has given me an understanding of the industry and the challenges it faces. It has also given me an appreciation for the leadership Velma has provided STAR, and for the driving force she is within the industry. I look forward to continuing to work with her to move STAR forward. We will always continue our quest to bring bottlers the best products, the best services and the best solutions.”
Alexander began a strategic initiative in the fall of 2014 to communicate more effectively with all involved in the bottled water industry, re-designing and re-establishing STAR’s web site and establishing a company presence on social media. He has also become involved in industry organizations including MABWA, NWBWA, NEBWA, SEBWA and CDANA during 2015.
Alexander is a 1998 graduate of Houston Baptist University with a BS in History and Political Science. He has extensive professional experience in the sports media and journalism field, working in the sports information offices of three NCAA Division I programs, writing and editing content on a web site for college sports enthusiasts, and suppling game recaps for national media outlets. After a five-year stint at the Texas Lottery Commission in Austin, serving as a publications coordinator, customer email-database coordinator and as a retailer retention specialist, Alexander spent a number of years as a “stay-at-home-dad”.
Alexander and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Cedar Park, Texas, with their two children.
Founded in 1998 by Roppolo, STAR SOLUTIONS, INC. continues its proud history as the only chemical company that serves the bottled water industry exclusively. With environmentally-safe products, and superior customer service and technical expertise, STAR is big enough to support an array of solutions to fit any business and small enough to give bottlers the attention they deserve.
